The accelerator cable in my car recently snapped. I have ordered a new one and would love any advice as to the best way to replace it myself. It seems simple enough but if a take out the old one and run into difficulties im pretty screwed

Unscrew tensioner and unclip cable from throttle body. Inside vehicle under dash, unclip cable end off pedal bracket. Push cable through the firewall. You may need to use a screwdriver to pry out seal plug. And remove old cable, taking note of the routing for replacing with new?
