Red lighting light blinking/flashing

Which light is flashing? Is it on one of these images? If yes, post the number and we will see what the issue is. The only red light I can think of that blinks is to do with an alarm system and it should stop blinking when the engine starts. The check engine light can blink as well but there will be codes stored if it is blinking.

If you do not see it here could to take a quick picture or video and load it on this site?
It is possible it is something used on a different option group than what I show.

P2172 = Throttle Actuator Control System - Sudden High Airflow/Large Vacuum Leak Detected
This code means the PCM is seeing a lot of extra air that it cannot account for given the MAP sensor and engine load. The most common cause is a large vacuum leak through either a broken vacuum hose or intake gasket. The next possibility is that the TPS signal from both sensors are stuck or the signal wire is shorted and sending a 2.5 volt signal to the PCM.

I would start by checking for a vacuum leak. As the code is constant and the light is blinking it should be a constant issue.
If you find no leak then you need to use a scan tool to monitor the voltages from the MAP sensor and the TPS sensors.
