These early El Caminos had a very flimsy rear panel, unreinforced. The inner panel is ~ 4-6" inside of the outer panel. In the process of restoring mine - which is around 98% complete - I'd like to know if there is a way to make the rear outer panel less susceptible to denting in (even putting your hands on it wrong when closing it can cause it). It's just 60-year-old sheet metal. It's never been in a rear-end impact of any sort.
So, is there some sort of product (like a spray foam that will adhere and "rubberize") that I can use to make the outer panel more dent-resistant?
