I get a rattling sound from the engine compartment when driving below fifty kph and when idling. When I cruise at highway speeds, the rattling vanishes and the engine runs quietly as normal. When idling, if I shift to neutral, the rattling abruptly stops.
After two trips to the dealership and them charging me $700.00 each time to tell me nothing is wrong, I am looking for some kind of answer, hopefully!

So setting still in park you have a rattle, shift to neutral and the rattle stops? It also stops while driving. If you step on the gas and let off while in park does the noise change in pitch like a metallic buzzing?
Could you make a recording of it and post it on here, or go on YouTube and search heat shield rattle and see if anything there sounds like your noise.
It is possible that it is not that and is something related to the transmission like a cracked flex plate but that usually does not go away.
