Did the 3.0L Vulcan engine found in the 1994 Ranger have torque-to-yield head bolts or were they "standard" head bolts?

I am trying to help a friend with his "beater" truck and have a question concerning the head bolts.

Did the 3.0L Vulcan engine found in the 1994 Ranger have torque-to-yield head bolts or were they "standard" head bolts? What I am trying to find out is it really necessary to replace the existing bolts since it is just a "beater"?

Also, could you provide the torque specifications for both cases?

Thank you in advance for your reply. You have always been so helpful in the past.

Hi,

I looked up replacement in the manual and there is a two-step process, so I have to call them torque to yield.

If you look at the attached pic, it provides the process.

Let me know if this helps

Take care,

Joe

See pics below. Pic 1 is the torque and pic 2 provides the sequence.

That's what I thought, just hoping for "standard" bolts to avoid the extra cost. New TTY bolts it shall be.

Thank you for your quick reply. Hope you have a great day!
