I bought a new fan online but did not come with wiring harness just a plug off the new fan motor. Can I cut the clip off wire the old harness to it because it still works just no plug to plug the new fan motor into. I'm just not sure about the wires coming from the new fan. They are two blue and one black wire. I can send a picture or video if need be to explain better if need to.

Welcome to 2CarPros.

You can hard wire the new fan, but to be honest, I have no idea what each of the wires are for. I have no schematic to review for an aftermarket fan motor. What I did was to attach a wiring schematic of the wiring to the fan module. You will see there are four wires. Two of them are for power, one hi and one low and the red wire is hot all the time. The other is ground. I have to assume your new fan is the same, but I don't want to guess at which wire is for what.

Take a look at the schematic and see if it helps.

Let me know.

Welcome back:

The video is helpful. I see what you mean now. As far as splicing them, that will work. Make sure to either use a butt connector or solder them and cover each wire with electrical tape. Now, I hate to say it, but I don't know what each wire does on the new fan. Most likely, the black is ground, but I can't even guarantee that. The the other wires are for high and low operation. Just make sure to use only the wires which went to the original fan.

I'm really sorry I can't give you more info. Didn't anything come with the new fan? Is there anything on the fan itself?

Let me know.
