Sir, my santro xing glx 2003 is giving an average of jst 5 to 6 kms from last year. An idle air control valve is creating an hissing sound due to leakage of air through it. When engine is in idle position at signals. It gets smoothed sometimes with low RPM and sometimes it vibrates like anything causing my gear knob to wobble. The engine rpm goes high when fired. And it continues through up shifts causing no need for pushing the throttle. It continues as if the car is driven in 3rd gear. Ie. Engine rpms are very very high.
kindly suggest me remedy for the same whether changing IAC valve is the only solution for this or something else to be changed along with this.
Your valuable reply is utmost important to me. Looking forward to hear from you soon.
Thanks

Increased idling speed would definitely increase the fuel consumption. If the IAC is faulty, it has to be replaced. I vacuum leakage is from somewhere else, it has to be rectified.
