Accidentally put power and ground together and blew ignition fuse, replaced it, now the engine cranks and faded dash lights dim?

So, I bought my vehicle listed above. It was running just fine for a decent drive but before I got home it started to struggle and shut off. I thought it was out of gas, but it wasn’t. I parked it and towed it to buddy house for tools. I got it running by putting ground wire to negative terminal on battery started just fine took it off battery re-grounded it shut off down road and accidentally put power and ground together and blew ignition fuse, replaced it. Now I get a crank and faded dash lights turn off when the brake is pushed, or A/C is turned on. Charged battery no effect stayed the same.

Hi,

Are you sure the battery is good? If possible, remove it and have a parts store load test it to see if it is good.

Next, I'm a little confused. Is the battery-negative cable in good condition? Is it clean and tight on both ends?

Let me know.

Joe
