My serpentine belt wouldn't stay on, noticed My power steering pump pulley was broken, so I replaced my pulley, it was fine for a couple minutes and then it broke off, I noticed before I put the new one on, that that little metal ring behind it, (that I believe is supposed to go into the hole on the pump?), was bent, and is even more now, is that the reason? How do I get a new flimsy metal ring? Possible other problems/solutions?

you probably have a bent shaft on pump so need a new/rebuilt pump and pulley setup

It doesn't look bent at all, I think the little metal ring I mentioned is the shaft seal, or part of it... Is it possible for that to just have broken and gotten in the way? Or are you certain it's the shaft itself?

it cold be the seal or a spacer and the spacer would more than likely be a dealer item. you can try one from a junkyard which would have all the parts including pulley. while you are at it replace the belt and tensioner as well
