Hi, just out of curiosity, if it is possible to fix or will he need new shock absorber and other bits.
Mate hit a big pothole and the front end of car sits low now, after inspecting, I have noticed that Strut top nut, bolt and the rubber has been pushed up into engine bay.
There is plenty of thread on the bolt that comes from the shock absorber, but is it worth/safe to just tighten it back up or should we get him new shock and struts?

Thanks in advance.

For it to push through it sounds like the strut mount has failed. The top part of the strut where the threads are should be inside the mount. Plus if it is setting low there is other damage as the springs are what support the weight. I would say to inspect all the parts and replace or repair any damage because the parts could suffer a catastrophic failure at any time. I would also inspect the tires and rims as an impact that hard could easily bend a rim or damage the belts in the tires.
