I was driving and the check engine light came on, so I took it to a car parts place, and they read the code. It was a camshaft position sensor, so I got one and changed it out. Still on, still the same code. So, I changed the other one. Still on, still the same code, but now it has no acceleration, is slow to change gears and is idling terribly. It revs up the rpms from 500-1000, consistently with no ac on. Occasionally, the engine light will blink or five seconds then back to solid, I changed the spark plugs and no difference was made. I can’t smell raw gas so it's probably not a gas leak.

Hello, what exactly was the code number you got from the scan? And if you purchased the cam sensor from autosome or some other aftermarket location it's probably no good. When it comes to important sensors like this, especially a cam or crank sensor always buy and OEM sensor Hyundai sensor, don't change parts due to a code, its only used for diagnostic purposes and to give some direction on what to test. If you are getting a circuit code for the cam sensor, it can be the wiring, a connector, the engine computer, etc. Even a bad crank sensor can sometimes set cam codes because they all work together to input mechanical engine timing. But what was the code, probably started with a P correct? (P*****)
Put the original sensor back on the vehicle, if the check engine light is flashing now, that means there are Catalytic converter damaging cylinder misfires occurring.
