1996 Pontiac Trans Am V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic

My wifes 1996 T/A Convertible has a facvtory alarm system. Recently it has started going through some strange things when the alarm is activated from the remote, or if you engage the alarm from inside the car by the door lock. Whenthe alarm goes into and out of alarm mode the headlights go up and down and the antenna for the radio activates and goes up and down.
we have resorted to locking the car by key only. Do you have any idea where I can begin to troubleshoot this problem?

I had a similar problem with my 01 Firebird. Turned out to be the gears in the headlight motors were stripped causing the computer to get confused. I was able to rotate one motor to use the other half of the gear (they only use half the gear), but had to get another motor for the other side as that gear was stipped all the way around. Once done everything worked fine.
