Well since theres a check engine light, it would be grand to kn ow what codes there are, eliminates alot of guess and check!
Right now you could have a possible fuel or spark problem, more then likely it is fuel. Did the engine overheat at all before, or after the pump was changed? Or notibly ran hotter? Also was there anything you disconnected electrically to remove the pump, you may not have put one back on properly.
When the car starts bogging down it would be nice if you could check for fuel pressure at that time, it would tell if its loosin gpressure then starting to bogg down due to loss of fuel pressure, or if the fuel pressure is up to specs then you can move to the injectors.
Hows your plugs and wires look? Also if aplicable check the distributor cap and rotor for wear and carbon buildup.
