I 100% agree about using a rubber gasket! I have the same transmission. The best way to do it with no leaks is to slightly tighten the bolts working your way around until you reach the torque specs for it. I torque mine in between 90 and 100 in-lbs. Also before you install the gasket, you should make sure the gasket is spotless clean and using your finger, wipe a little transmission fluid on both sides of the gasket. Ive found that it really does make a better seal. Afterwards, wipe excess fluid away, run it through the gears and check for leaks and proper fluid level. Hope this helps. :)
