Transmission problem
2000 Pontiac Montana Front Wheel Drive Automatic

my transmission all of a sudden stated jurking(i guess u could call it) into gear but it doesnt do it all the time. And when it does do it I can pull over shut my car off and then restart my car and it will drive fine. I was told that because my egr valuve code is coming on that this may cause the issue. Is this true can a egr valve cause a transmission to run differently? And if not is there something else that may do this? Again it does not happen all the time.

I doubt the EGR has anything to do with it. It could be a speed sensor, shift solenoid. Has the check engine light come on?

The light does come on once and a while but then goes off after starting the car maybe 2 times.I had it checked on the computer and was told the code did come up for the egr but was also told 1811 was the transmission code that came up.

The EGR could cause the engine to miss. Does it feel that way or as if it is coming from the trans?
