ceramic brake pads

I replaced the brake pads on my 2002 Grand Prix GT 3.8L car with ceramic pads one week ago. Whenever I brake now there is a terrible grinding noise. Is this normal until the pads wear a bit, or did I do something wrong?

Sometimes they can be that way. IT would be smart to pull the wheels and take a peak for anything abnormal. Ounce of prevention is better than a pound of cure.
