Some type of electrical surge or break in power causes a loud pop in the speakers when the car/weather is cold. The radio resets the clock, etc. And the xm is gone until the car is restarted. I put a similar radio from a 04 silverado in the car to test it and it did not do it. Is this radio bad? It does operate correctly otherwise. The radio I tried from the silverado did go into "lock" mode when the car was started. But there was power to it.?

Hi there,
Thank you for the donation,

I would be thinking that the original radio has an internal fault, it may be wort while giving it to a radio tech to bench test to prove this one way or the other, start here.
