Transmission problem
2002 Pontiac Grand Prix 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 128k miles

I noticed the leak on my 3.8l v6 grand prix gt had increased. I took my car in to get an oil change and an inspection of the leak and they told me they "couldn't find anything"

I took my car home and checked the transmission levels and it is anywhere from 1/2-1 quart low on tranny fluid.

what could have happened? and why did they tell me they couldn't find anything when it obviously is leaking? HELP, PLEASE.

The usual source of leaking trans. fluid are the axle seals (where the CV axles go into transmission).

You would need to raise car, put on stands and inspect seals.

Also check fluid with engine running, shifter in park.

it ended up being a simple O-Ring repair. Apparently mine had just come loose. They fixed it without even charging me.
