2001 Pontiac Grand Prix GT keys stuck in the ignition

When I shut the car off the key goes to the home position but I can't get them out unless I jiggle the wheel, and move the shift lever around through the gears or step on the brake, I have to mess with all this stuff for 5-10 minutes before I can get them out. I'm sure this will only work for so long please help!

The mechanical ignition switch is faulty and needs to be replaced, beat done at the dealer since the ignition cylinder needs to be coded to your key and the key needs to be programmed to the vehicle
