My car has been giving a bad MAF sensor code. It runs, but not very well. However, I unplugged the sensor yesterday and it starting running great. Will I have any long term damage? I don't really care about performance, I only drive this vehicle 5 miles a day. I just don't want to wreck the engine.

Thank you in advance for your input.

I have seen people unplug them and it wont hurt the engine. But you will probably save the money in fuel economy if you replace it. This has a great deal to do with air fuel mixture ratio
