I also have a 1994 Pontiac Grand AM 3.1 L V6 with 160,000 miles and I'm having nearly the same problem except when the ABS light is off I have to push the brakes to the floor to come to a complete stop. When the light is on the brakes will pretty much lock up if I depress them all the way, but they still help me slow down before locking up. It's almost like the car recognizes that the ABS isn't working correctly so is overrides the ABS. I've been told its something electrical, but I'm doughting that. The drums, shoes, and pads are still good. Any ideas?
