I took my wife’s Grand Am to a shop that said it needed the Front Struts replaced for 390 + Labor, Front left Caliper replaced size 85.18 x 2 $170 + labor, Rooters 89.76size x2 $180, Pads $140 = labor, and steering Aligned $84.

I decided to get a second opinion from another shop and they said it needed Hub Barings replaced $ 204, Alignment $109, Front pads $105, 2x Front Rooters $144 + Labor, and Brake Flush $60.

Are front struts and hub bearings the same thing? If not are they both screwed and why are they telling me two different things are broken? I'm afraid that if I get one fixed, the other will still be broken or one of these estimates is wrong. Can you please help me?

Hi 2/5fox-usmc,

Thank you for the donation.

The struts and hub bearings are different things but work on both are slightly related.

Get a 3rd or 4th opinion since both the former shops are telling you different things.
