I just replaced the intake manifold on my 2000 Grand Am. I think it may not have seated correctly. Prior to changing the intake the plugs all looked fine and there was coolant in the oil. Currently with the new intake gaskets replaced there is bubbling coming in the coolant resevoir, loose of coolant and white smoke from the exhaust. How can I confirm if this is a head gasket or a poorly installed intake gasket?

Unless the car overheated, I would suspect the intake gaskets. They can leak and look EXACTLY like a head gasket failure.

Replace the intake manifold gasket, use quality gasket like FelPro.

GM has had a lot of problems with Dex-Cool and intake manifold gaskets.
