1995 Pontiac Grand Am fuel mileage

I rebuilt my 1995 Grand Am quad 4, the fuel milage is under 15 miles a gallon, hi-way. This half what it should be. It runs very smooth, has good performance it just sucks down the gas. Can you help. Thanks.

Start by checking fuel pressure with mechanical gauge. Are you getting any error codes?

The engine light has not come on, I have not ran a system check, or ran a fuel pressure test. I will.

I would check the fuel pressure and maybe give it 1000 miles of break-in.
