Lack of power could be either the fuel pump is dying, or the catalytic converter may be broken up inside, and a section of it is wedged in the exhaust, choking the motor off. Use a vacuum gauge, attach it to a manifold vacuum port, bring RPM's to 2000, watch the gauge, if it's steady and over 15 hg, it's not the exhaust, if the gauge starts to fall, the exhaust is clogged. Is the service engine light on?
