Two weeks ago my temperature light came on and I drove off and it went off, so I drove off and drove for two weeks and it finally ran hot again and the light came on again, then the water outlet plastic peice where the 3/4 inch heater hose hooks up broke off. Does the water pump turn from the timing chain or belt? Or is it seperate.

The water pump is driven by the timming chain, as for the 3/4 inch heater hose plastic connector, is that on the upper inlet mounted to the engine? The fittings on the heater core at the fire wall are metal.
