I just bought this car and i've been fixing things on it from the get go.I have alot of water on the floor boards and I don't know where it came from. There is a crack between the driver side window and the rubber of the window frame as the window is off track, however this doesn't seem to be the cause as it didn't rain or snow enough to cause that size puddles and my seat wasn't wet. The car isn't over-heating or even running hot. Could it still be the heater core, as my brother -in-law suggested? The heat blows hot. What could be the cause and how do I fix it? The floor boards under the car are solid, by the way.

First inspect the inner wheel well splash guards. Some times these can be damaged and allow water to actually splash into the cabin of vehicle. If OK here, start vehicle and let engine to warm up to operating temp. Then turn heat on HIGH and locate the 2 hoses under hood near firewall leading to heater core in dash. Ensure both hoses are warm to touch. If only one or neither are warm then this a sign of a faulty heater core. Also check coolant level. Post results and I will follow up.
