WHAT V-6 WILL BOLT UP TO THE TRANSMISSION. I HAVE A V-6 1988 JEEP CHEROKEE, 2.6. I AM HOPING THIS VERY DEPENDABLE ENGINE, UNLIKE THE PONTIAC PIECE OF CRAP, WILL BOLT UP TO THE AUTOMATIC.

You can check with local junkyards for interchangeability questions, but I doubt it.

You would probably be better off trying a 1989 GM 60 degree V6, which was an option that year, usually the 2.8 V6 will fit, although you will probably have to get the wiring harness also from the donor car.
