1987 Pontiac Grand Am tachometer installation

87 pontiacs dont have a tach so im installing one that I bought. I am unsure where to hook up the green wire. The instructions say to the ignition coil or distributor but it is hard to access those areas without taking apart lots of the engine. Its a tech 4 engine, is there another place to hook up the wire?

The car is a DIS (direct ignition system) so the wire has to be connected to the ignition coil which is between the firewall and the back of the engine. I need help finding exactly where the ignition coil is and where the negative terminal is.
