Hi, I been having a problem with my car (base model), not to long ago I was driving to the store and I was at least going 40 mph and the car basically shut off on me, it lost all power, the stereo turned off and it turned back on didn't have that problem for awhile until now. Today the car was perfectly fine but later on I try to unlock the car with the remote and I noticed it wasn't responding and so I had to unlock the car manually with the key and I tried to turn it on and it had no power. No lights in the dash or interior were working. I jumped started the car but it quickly turned on like nothing, fast forward the car has been working perfectly fine, it turns on everything. But I would like to know what could be the problem because it has done this to me a couple times. Today was the only day I had to jump start it the other times it would be dead and randomly it would gain power and turn on. Any suggestions?

Hello,

This sounds like an intermittent problem with the connections on your vehicle's battery terminals. Can you please double check the connections on your vehicle's battery and make sure that they are clean, tight, corrosion free, and making good metal to metal contact? Please get back to us with what you find out, and we can go from there, if necessary.

Thanks,
Alex

I noticed one of the battery terminals is very loose, it doesn't want to tighten up. Do you suggest I should get a new one?

Hello again,

Absolutely. Your whole car is run on electricity, from the engine sensors the computer needs to run the car to lights, you name it, and they all need the vehicle battery to operate. It is critically important that you have a fully charged and properly hooked up battery. Your vehicle will not run properly without it. Make sure that the battery connections are clean, tight, corrosion free, and making good metal to metal contact and get back to us with how everything turns out, please.

Thanks,
Alex
