I have a 1995 Pontiac Firebird with a 162,720 miles on it . When I start my car it starts off with a idle of 3,000 rpm's but after you put in gear it goes to about 2,000 rpm's even when I take it out of gear. this makes it difficult when driving because of so much laying on the brakes at the stops. Any advice will help. Oh plus on the highway or just plane driving the car runs smooth I just have a problem with low speeds that I need to drive like under 25 mph. Let me add that the engine size is a 3.4 litre and the car starts with no problem.
