Hi,
I am looking at buying a Pontiac 1994 5.7 Transam, (I couldn't see the option in your list) it has been imported to UK from USA. It has been professionally converted to right hand drive. The extent of full lock position on turning the steering wheel left and right is different, one can still do a three point turn fine but would this be normal after conversion and is there anything else to look out for especially on Transams? I have heard possibly also

If it wasnt a manufactured vehicle, then parts were used that didnt necessarily go on that car. That means it will have little quirks like this. How much difference is there from lock to lock on the steering wheel?

The steering appears way off, I test drove it this morning and at times I felt that I could not turn the steering wheel far enough to safely turn the car to the right. I can only think the steering rack/pinion? May be too far over and I am not sure how much work this would take to put right. On full lock the left front tyre showed 6 inches from the body but on full right only 3 inches.

Engine had plenty of power, maybe an alternator rattle but nothing serious that I could tell.

The car sure looked good from a few feet away but all in all there was a lot wrong. Interior dash not well fitted, bits hanging off, also trim damaged where it was cut for an oversize DVD player or not lining up at all. The VIN number was one letter out which by itself I would have been OK with but with the air con only pumping out hot air I had to walk away. Really disappointing, these cars are not too common in the UK.

Thank you all for your help, I am still looking for the right car but it wasn't this one sorry to say.
