My car has been running great. Just recently, I can drive for 13-15 miles and the engine shuts off. It will start immediately and I can continue on my way. We ch. Anged the fuel filter and the problem seemed to go away. Tonight, I drove less than 2 miles and the engine shut down again. It started, but ran rough. It shut down again in less than two blocks. It started, and I drove home immediately. The check engine light does not come on, and it doesn't show any codes, but tonight the traction off light came on for the first time. Your help will be greatly appreciated.

Have the ignition module checked? Also, when it dies, is it all at once or slowly?

The engine shuts off as if it were not getting any gas. It happens rather quickly. I can step on the gas pedal and nothing happens. The engine just shuts down. The last time this happened, it started right up, but shut down 2 blocks later. It started up again and I drove it home. How do I get the ignition module checked?

Hi:
You will need a mechanic to check the module with test equipment. However, it may check good and only malfunction once in a while like you are experiencing.
