Oil pressure dash gauge reads 40 psi when cold. Warm is very close to zero causing the audible warning and "check gauges" light. Manual gauge shows 60 cold and 15 warm, installed new sending unit with no help. Any suggestions?

Do you hear any type of bottom end knock if not could be the oil pump pressure relief valve or engine bearings
