2001 Pontiac Aztek wipers freezing to winshield

I've got a '01 aztek that get snow and ice between the hood and the windshield. I'm constantly having to pop the hood to free the wipers and clean out the gap so the wipers will work properly. Any ideas on how to get around this problem

You can buy wipers that will not freeze to windshield pretty much anywhere. Try throwing a towel across the space where your windshield and hood meet at night so the snow doesnt get in there.
