For the past week the "Service Engine Soon" light has been lit. I took it to Autozone to have it scanned. The scan says that it was probably an oxygen sensor. Three days ago (after it had rained) the light started blinkning and my car was chugging. The car seemed to have quit after a few minutes. This morning when I left for work (it was raining, and had been all evening previous) the car startes to chug yet again and the light started blinking. For some reason this only seems to happen during of after rain. Also, the light will quit blinking after the car quits chugging. Is it an electrical problem? A co-worker says that it could be my fuel filter. He states that water could be in the line. What do you think?

No to the fuel filter. I need you to test something. At night, when it is dark, start the engine, open the hood, and mist water on the plug wires, coil. What you are looking for is an arcing from the ignition system. Something is getting wet and causing it to miss. If you see an arc, turn the light in to identify where it is coming from.

Let me know what you find.
