First run a scan on the engie to see if there are any codes. If there are clear them first by pulling the ecm fuse for 30 seconds. Then start again and see what you have. You have to go to the aldl and cross A&B and turn the key on and watch the light flashes. On the site go to OBD1 and see what the code is. If this is a 2.5L 4 cylinder, check the distributor if it has one for a cracked reluctor as that was a problem for those engines.
