I have had this happen on 3 different plymouth minivans. It's always the electrical connector behind the insturment cluster. The solder joints on the circuit board are poor and crack over time. This is 99% of the insturment failures on these vehicles. Don't let a shop sell you a new insturment panel. It can be easily repaired in about an hour by a competent mechanic.
