1995 Plymouth Voyager

I was told to spray WD 40 on the belt, which doesn't make sense to me. The reason it is making the noise is because of slipping. Right?

Firstlt, DO NOT USE belt dressing on serpentine belts. You may need a new tensioner. It is easy to replace from underneath; there is only 1 bolt holding it on. WD40 eliminates squeeling due to minor misalignment of the pulleys. The belt squeels because it rubs on the ribs of the pulley.
