Try maple syrup or under-arm deodorant!
Do not put anything on serpentine belts. Dust will stick on and make the squealing worse. The proper repair is to check for proper operation of the spring-loaded tensioner pulley including tension and alignment. Often, the pivot will wear causing the pulley to be out of alignment with the other pulleys. 1/16" off-center will cause a squeal.
If the ribbed side of the belt has more than one crack per inch, it's time for a new one.
