I have replaced the compressor, dryer, expansion valve and flushed the system. Evacuated the system, installed the reccomended amount of pag oil, and filled the system with 85% of the reccomended r-12 with r-134. The low side pressure is 40 psi, and unit seems to cool ok, not as good as r-12. Question: the site glass still shows bubbles, should more r-134 be added until the glass shows clear?

Hi there,

Thank you for the donation,

R134a is not as efficient as R12 so it will not feel as cold, but with that said, as a general rule, when the system is turned on, the sight glass should bubble up then run clear, so it may be a bit low still, you must be careful not to over fill as well.
