Could anyone tell me how to fix my brakes? I have had everything replaced and they work fine but they make a terrible honking noise. It is so loud and obnoxious I hate to even drive it. Someone one said that there used to be a shim kit available for the brakes but that it is no longer available. My laser is a 1990 with about 165,000 miles on it. I love the car and have spent $$ on the brakes. I would just like them to stop honking.

Are you getting a brake squeal? If so, they make a product that is placed on the brake pad steel backing plate that is designed to eliminate squeal. I'm not sure what you mean by honking.
