I have a 1993 plymouth acclaim with a shaking problem. At around 15-40 mph the car starts to shake. THe answers that I came up with were a tire imbalance or a computer problem. BUt, what happens is the problem is inconsistant. Sometimes it shakes and sometimes is does not which is making me lean more towards a computer probelm. I already cleaned out the TBI with cleaner but the problem still occurs. What is the problem?

How does a computer cause shaking? Tire imbalance will not be noticeable at low speeds.

If the shaking is felt in the seat, suspect broken belts in the tires. Two of them can add to each other's shaking or cancel each other out as the tires rotate at different speeds as when going around a corner.

More common is a worn inner cv joint housing, usually the right one. This will cause shaking in the steering wheel when accelerating. There is a very specific procedure I figured out to find this problem but it is too involved for most do-it-yourselfers. Holler back if you'd like the procedure.
