pitman arm removal

hi i just saw a video on how to remove the steering box on a 2002 tahoe and i want to know if u lossen up the steering box and disconnect all the lines before u use the puller to remove the the pitman arm or can i just use the puller with out disconnecting the lines or loosen the steering box thank you

I think you need to loosen the box to get enough room to use the tool if I remember right the frame is in the way

would i have to disconnect the lines even to just remove the pitman arm?

no just need to remove the bolts to be able to turn the box
