Good evening. Ryan, I have the 454 big block you’re building and the rings I bought from engine pro are the same part number, but the rigs are a lot bigger than the bore size. The bore is 030, 4.280. I have the same pistons from the part number provided and the pistons fit but the rings are really big. The part number for the rings are (43M 5528 030) but the box says 4.3200. I wasn’t sure if I ordered the wrong size or did the part numbers changed. Please help.

Hi,

Ryan isn't on here all the time, but I will forward your question to him. Expect a reply within a day or so.

Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Joe

Hey there!

Thank you so much for watching the series!

So, the 030 in the part number tells me that you did order the correct rings, that would indicate to me that it is .030 over stock. I think maybe they just sent you the wrong box, it does happen. They could have even changed what is available, not sure why they would stop selling the most common bore out size for a big block Chevrolet.

I could not find a resource online to even order those rings, I had gotten them from my machine shop.

Going forward I only use parts I can find online so I can link directly.

If I were you, I would return those rings (they are clearly the wrong ones) and get these instead.

Thank you for using 2CarPros!

Best,
Ryan
