Hello, my car is a HDI diesel. It turns off stalls only with a/C on at idling. I mean when the A/C on the cars start to choke and gradually it turns off at idling. I replaced the timing belt water pump and pulleys. They told me it was alternator fault. Checked it and was fine. I think is throttle body or fuel pump or fuel pump regulator. When I first turn on the car when it has been a while off, in the morning for example the car makes a click sound about four or five clicks and a smell of diesel gasoline is out, but only for five minutes max not disturbing. When I come from work and turn off I hear again the four or five clicks.
Thanks, best regards

As it only stalls when the AC is on I would check the idle control valve and alternator output. Most smaller engines are set up to increase the rpm's when the AC is on because it creates a large load on the engine. The higher rpm's also turn the alternator faster to increase its output to compensate for the electrical load of the clutch and condenser fan coming on. If the rpm's do not increase the engine can stall.

It would be part of the throttle body. I cannot find a good manual for this car yet. I have seen some other info which suggests it could be an EGR fault, but that should turn on the CEL on the dash.

Thank you very much steve w. Ive cleaned the throttle body with liqui molly solution and the mechanic said the 95% of the fault is the dirt inside the egr valve because the black smoke the car jerks while ac is on and the valve isnt fully opening. But my car has a electric type of egr and might need a throttle relearn after cleaning egr. Is the cleaning of my electric egr harmful to my car and is there any chance of damaging my car egr? Best regards

Cleaning shouldn't hurt it at all. EGR systems are pretty tough. The only real way of damaging it would be if you flooded it with cleaner. But normal cleaning won't do that.

Hello everybody, I solved my car stalling problem by cleaning egr valve, throttle body and collectors too. It was a big amount of soot and dirt on those parts
