Hi a month ago my peugeot 306 stopped on me while I was driving. After closer inspection I found out that some how my camshaf had snapped in half. I went out and got a new camshaft and replaced it after locking off all the timing wheels. I was hoping the car would start straight away but it didnt. After a few pushes down the street whiles turning the key the car nearly starts and thiers smoke coming out the exahust but there seems to be one thing missing while will make it ago again. Has anyone any ideas?

Run a compression test I think you may have a bent valve.

How do you run a compression test? Someone mentioned that I might need to ajust my valve clearences? Do you think this could be a possible reason for it not starting?
