Engine swap would PCM work with different engine code

I was wondering if a PCM would work if engine code is different? I'm swapping motors on my vehicle listed above and this code is W the 8th letter, and the motor I'm putting in is X the 8th letter, and I was wondering if the PCM's. Would interchange with each other? Or do I need to buy another PCM. Both have the same motor 4.3L vortec.V6
