I know it's common in these cars. I tried to open it and the interior fabric panel opens with zero issues, once you click the button to open the roof it just clicks. Sometimes it would grind. Ordered another used motor, installed it and it did the same thing, but one side of the roof opened, the left, which is the same side I replaced. There is another motor on the right side, and I am sure it also contributes. Am trying to figure out whether both contribute to opening the roof, and which one opens the inside fabric panel. I am thinking maybe the left motor opens the right and vice versa. Whenever I try to open it I put my hand on both motors and it feels as if both are moving or both want to move so I am confused on which controls what. On regular sunroofs they only have one motor.

If you can upload a video it would help. You are right though, the right motor working the left side and vice versa, here are the instructions on how to replace the motors and how the system works. The clicking or ticking noise can be from stripped gear or drive. Does the sunroof seem to work okay or no? Check out the images (below). Let us know what happens and please upload pictures or videos of the problem.
