My car has a 4T65E transmission. VIN# 2g1wx15k319226376. The block of the engine cracked and the transmission was slipping so I replaced it with the same size engine and same number transmission from a 2003 Jeff Gordon edition Monte Carlo SS VIN# 2g1wx12k739358113.

The engine would not start so the mechanic replaced the wiring harness and it started with the 2001 computer (coded 1LDB), but the transmission has given a code (P1810 pressure manifold switch fault) and would not shift properly. We hauled the car to a transmission shop and replaced the computer with the 2003 computer(coded 3LDB) and the car would not start again.

We replaced the 2003 computer with the 2001 computer and it once again started, but it is shifting hard and showing the same P1810 again. Any advice to fix this issue would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

That is a transmission pressure switch malfunction and it may be due to the transmission combo that is in there. You might try programming the 2003 computer anti theft so it will start and it may fix it or it may be a TCM problem from the 2001 or it may be that the transmission is made to shift hard as it is a special edition from a race car driver.

We fixed this. We put the computer out of the 2003 car back in the 2001 with the 2003 motor and transmission. Then we reloaded the BCM (body control module) with a new code because the security program would not let the car start. It starts, runs and shifts great now. It was the anti theft program. Thank you.
